Design Management
Sophisticated designs require intensive coordination between design disciplines, from IT networking engineers, architects, and MEP engineers, to owners and contractors. GLD builds and leads the team, moderating and coordinating everyone involved in designing the project. From creating a basis of design to ensuring quality control and commissioning, GLD oversees every aspect of the design process to achieve an optimal design.
Efficiency Optimization
Through Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) modeling and our attention to detail, we meet the cooling and environmental demands of critical equipment while reducing energy waste. GLD works with the entire design team to address opportunities to optimize energy use.
Construction Administration
The staff at GLD understands how data center facilities are constructed. Throughout the design phase and during construction we monitor each design discipline to ensure that every part of the design is compatible with the design intent. We minimize conflicts between design disciplines. We coordinate Requests for Information (RFI) and Shop Drawings from multiple disciplines to maintain continuity throughout the construction process.
Environmental Awareness
Data centers often constitute the largest energy load in a building. Many operate 24/7, which increases the cost. At GLD we understand the effect that this energy usage has on the environment and on the bottom line. By increasing the efficiency of the space using innovative designs, we can save energy in cooling and electricity without disrupting normal operations. Data centers are not green spaces, but the energy savings from an efficient data center substantially reduces the total energy footprint of a whole building.
